Sopot Art Weekend
The Sopot Art Weekend will be held from November 14th to 16th - a unique celebration of artists and lovers of contemporary art. The program will include exhibitions, meetings with authors, artistic walks and open studios where you will be able to look behind the scenes of creativity. The Sopot Art Weekend is also an opportunity to reflect on the condition of visual arts in the city, which will be initiated by the "Creators and the City" debate at the State Art Gallery.
On Friday (14/11) from noon, Splot Gallery will open its doors at ul. Czyżewskiego 8-10, presenting the exhibition "Dialogues" with the participation of Anna Bem-Borucka, Krzysztof Gliszczyński, Edyta Kowalewska and Michał Wirtel. On this day, several vernissages will be held in various parts of the city: by Henryk Cześnik at Dworek Sierakowskich, Włodzimierz Bludnik at the BOTO Theater and Mariola Sarbiewska at Autentico by Bator Art Gallery. The studio of Katarzyna Konieczka, a renowned costume designer, will also be open. In Two Changes (ul. Boh. Monte Cassino 31), a meeting with Agata Kędra is planned around her exhibition Beautifully. Beautiful 2.
On Saturday (15/11) at Goyki 3 Art Incubator we will see a residential exhibition by Piotr Matkowski and Eva Fajcikova, and an outdoor meeting with Robert Florczak will take place in front of the SFINKS Art Pavilion. Visitors will be able to visit the open studio of Magdalena Malena Jankowska and Michał Sołtan, as well as take part in a walk along the trail of Sopot murals with Aleksandra Pilutkiewicz. There will be a meeting with Gosia Golińska at the Smak Słowa Bookstore. The Sopocki Auction House will invite you for a guided tour. In the evening, there will be an opening of the collective exhibition Rigall / Rusinek / Kalkowski at the KIT Gallery, and Filip Ignatowicz will show around his exhibition JACKPOT in Stanowy.
Sunday (16/11) will be a day of reflection and conversation. At 11.00 there will be a walk along the trail of contemporary outdoor sculpture (conducted by Joanna Szymula-Grygiel) and Alicja Gruca will invite you to her studio. A guided tour of the exhibition In Depths is planned at the State Art Gallery. Living seas, living bodies and a debate "Creators and the city" with the participation of Sopot artists and guests from Gdańsk and Gdynia.
During the weekend, you will also be able to visit Bakcyl Atelier (ul. Haffnera 41) and the outdoor exhibition Design Collections - porcelain from Ćmielów in the Lipowa Loft Gallery mini gallery at 16 Lipowa Street. The Sopot Art Weekend includes 21 involved entities, 13 exhibitions, 7 meetings, 4 vernissages, 4 tours of exhibitions, 2 walks and a debate.
Admission to all events is free.
